Detailed Itinerary.
At 08:30am in the morning, the driver guide will pick you up at the communicated point to start your Kampala religious city tour. The tour starts with a visit tom the Hindu temple.
Hindu temple; At 09:00am, you will be at the Hindu temple welcomed by the guide in place who will take you through the history, the rich literature and practices of the Hindu faith. After that, you will take photos, record videos This will be 40 minutes tour.
Gaddafi Mosque; At 10:30 am, you will proceed to the Gaddafi Mosque, the national mosque, principal seat for the top leadership of the Muslim faith in Uganda. Here, you will be received by the team of experienced guides, briefed on the dressing code and toured around the Mosque. After, you will hike the minaret to the top for an aerial view of Kampala city. On site, there are souvenir shops where you can purchase a souvenir to carry back home.
Mapeera Nabulagala; At 12:00 pm, you will proceed to Mapeera Nabulagala, which is the Catholic Faith cradle in Uganda. Except Ordination sacrament, other sacraments like; Confirmation, Baptism, Holy Communion, Holy Matrimony, Proclamation, and penance began at this place. Mapeera NABULAGALA ALSO HAS a museum where most of the ancient missionaries’ belongings are preserved and conserved from, also they were buried here. The first catholic church in Uganda is also found here.
Lunch. At 13:00 Hours, you will be taken for lunch.
Bahai Temple: after a delicious meal of combination of Uganda dishes, you will at 14:30 hours be transferred to Bahai temple, found on the Kikaya hill in the Kisaasi suburb of Kampala city. This is the first and oldest only Bahai temple in the African continent. A prayer house with administrative posts in place giving a rich spiritual enrichment to the believers.
Namugongo Muslim Masjid. After Bahai, at 15:30pm you proceed to the phenomenal place in the history of Faith in Uganda where 100 Muslims were arrested and killed for refusing to eat a meal whose meat was not slaughtered by Moslem under the under of the Buganda King.
Namugongo Anglican; this is the kill zone locally referred to as “Nakiyanja.” This was a designated killed place for all decreed to die by the king. The biggest percentage of the Uganda Martyrs’ were murdered at this place. A museum was instituted in memory of the 1885 -1886 Uganda Martyrs’ at this place under the orders of Kabaka Mwanga of Buganda. This place also as a Amphitheatre where annual 3rd June Uganda Martyrs’ celebrations are held from, and yes you will tour it.
Namugongo Catholic basilica. At 17:00Hrs, you will be visiting the Catholic Martyrs Basilica in Namugongo. The peak of the predicament that befell the lives of Uganda Martyrs happened in Namugongo. It is subdivided into three: Catholic shrine, Anglican and Muslims Masjid. This is where the biggest percentage was killed and later burnt under the decrees f the then Buganda Kings.
